It was one of those special mission things — Adrastea was leading it, and we knew about it ahead of time, but... I don't know, it was really weird. None of us actually remembered getting on the ship, we were just there all of a sudden?
And then the mission itself was just... [ he hesitates for a long time before deciding what to say, like he's trying to answer without actually thinking about it too hard. ] ...a mess. Even though we technically accomplished it, I guess.
It was like... [ he bites his lip for a second, not eager to go into too much detail. ] a mass execution, basically. But all these shitty rich people were there to watch and treating the whole thing like a big exclusive party.

Do you need some water? I mean, like, something that isn't simulated? [ honestly no clue if he brought in his beer or if he's drinking a cold can of actually-nothing, but. ]
[ he did bring in his beer, so it at least is real even if (tragically) none of the food is, and he shakes his head.
...but then considers he's down to less than half of this can, and that he honestly should have brought in water in the first place — he can practically hear dahut getting on his case again for not being better about making an effort to prevent hangovers. ]

[ which he barely manages to get out between coughs. ]
[ yeah, he took a few sips of that beer in the meantime and managed to get to that place where it's like, he's trying very hard to hold back and stop irritating his throat and perpetuating the cycle further but there are still smaller bouts of muffled coughs every few seconds.
he'll gratefully take a water bottle when she's back and sip that until it dies down and he can breathe again.
ugh. exhales very softly, trying not to let the air tickle his throat wrong. ]
[ that gets a little bit of a smile of him, and he moves the second water bottle over closer in front of him to convey that he does intend to drink it. ]
